24 Heures: still the Number 1 free daily among 18-34 year-olds on weekdays!
Free daily 24 Heures is proud to present results from the2013/14 NADbank survey, which measured the readership levels of the main daily newspapers across the country from autumn 2013 to spring 2014. 24 Heures remains the Number 1 free daily among adult readers aged 18 to 34 (read yesterday). It attracts 80,000 readers in the 18-34 age bracket, which is nearly twice as many as its competitor, Métro (42,100).
Young and sought-after readership
Free daily 24 Heures has seen its readership increase in target segments that are especially sought-after by advertisers, including 18-24 year-olds, men, homeowners, university graduates, and households with $75,000 or more in income. In addition, 24 Heures attracts a strong proportion of Allophones as 29% of its readers are native speakers of languages other than French or English. In all, 24 Heures now attracts 714,900 readers a week in the Montreal market.
Exclusive distribution
24 Heures enjoys exclusive distribution throughout the STM and AMT networks. In all, 24 Heures is available at 1,750 points of distribution, including 1,200 non-traditional sites (CEGEPs, universities, restaurants, stores, hospitals, office buildings, and more), 350 display cases in the STM’s 68 metro stations, and 200 newspaper dispensers in the AMT network and at park-and-rides throughout Greater Montreal. Each daily edition of 24 Heures is also available online at 24heures.ca.
We are pleased to see that the content in 24 Heures is attractive to a diversified and sought-after customer base, including first-time buyers. In addition to providing full coverage of major news events, 24 Heures delivers young urban content, including 3 new columns: Je sors ou Je reste[“staying in or going out”] Les Artistes du métro [a series about subway artists], and Autour du métro [places to discover in and around the subway]. These new features make 24 Heures more captivating than ever and help boost loyalty among our savvy and dynamic readers interested in what’s new and happening in Montreal.
